Cobiax is the leading brand for voided slab technology.

Solid slabs have one weakness: they have a high dead weight. This is where Cobiax comes in with its technology: It reduces the weight of the slab or allows greater spans of up to 25 meters with the same weight. Concrete is simply omitted where it is not – statically required. This amounts to an average of around 35%. In addition, up to 15% of steel is saved. All Cobiax products have approval by the DIBt. Omitting concrete is advantageous in every respect. Building with Cobiax makes a significant contribution to reducing the CO2 balance of a building right from the construction stage (up to 20%). The primary energy demand is up to 22% lower than conventional solid slabs. Cobiax void former modules can be constructed both as in-situ concrete and with semi-precast elements. A combination with post-tensioning technology is also possible. Cobiax products have been used in construction projects all over the world. In principle, use in any type of building is possible.
